Our Craftsmanship Guarantee
Every Emma Easter bag is handcrafted with care in my small Welsh studio, using premium British materials chosen for their quality and longevity. I stand behind my work, and I want you to love your bag for years to come.
What's Covered
I guarantee all my bags against manufacturing defects for 12 months from the date of purchase. If your bag develops a fault due to my craftsmanship (such as stitching failure, hardware defects, or lining separation under normal use) I'll repair or replace it free of charge.
This guarantee covers:
- Seam separation or stitching failure
- Hardware malfunction (zips, buckles, D-rings)
- Lining detachment or defects
- Material defects present at the time of manufacture
What's Not Covered
Natural materials like Harris Tweed® cloth and leather develop beautiful character over time. The following are not considered defects:
- Normal wear and tear (surface scratches, leather patina, fabric softening, handle darkening)
- Accidental damage (cuts, tears, stains, burns, water damage)
- Damage from misuse, overloading, or improper care
- Modifications or repairs by anyone other than Emma Easter Handcrafted
- Damage from improper storage (mould, mildew, pest damage)
- Cosmetic variations inherent to natural, handcrafted materials
Your UK Consumer Rights
This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in this policy affects your legal right to a repair, replacement, or refund if your bag is faulty.
Under UK law, goods must be as described, fit for purpose, and of satisfactory quality. If your bag is faulty, you have the right to reject it within 30 days for a full refund, or request a repair or replacement up to 6 years from purchase (5 years in Scotland) if you can show the fault was present at the time of purchase.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
If you believe your bag has a manufacturing defect within 12 months of purchase:
- Email me at support@emmaeaster.co.uk with:Your order number and purchase dateAt least 3 clear photos showing the issue from different anglesA brief description of the problem and how it occurred
- I'll respond within 48 hours to confirm whether the issue is covered under warranty
- If approved, I'll provide return instructions and an estimated timeframe for repair:You cover shipping to my studioI'll cover return shipping back to you
- Repair and return: I'll keep you updated throughout the repair process and return your bag as soon as the work is complete
Lifetime Repair Service
Even after your 12 month guarantee expires, I'm here to help. I offer a lifetime repair service for all my bags. Whether it's replacing worn hardware, restitching a well loved seam, or refreshing tired leather, I'll give your bag a new lease of life.
How it works:
- Send me photos and a description of the issue
- I'll provide a free assessment and quote based on the work and materials required
- The quote will include an estimated timeframe for the repair
- Once you approve the quote, return your bag to me and I'll complete the repair
- Shipping costs: You cover postage both to and from my studio
Repair costs vary depending on the complexity of the work and materials needed, but I always aim to keep repairs affordable and worthwhile for bags you love.
