AI and Imagery Transparency Policy
AI & Imagery Transparency Policy
Emma Easter Handcrafted
At Emma Easter Handcrafted, honesty and transparency are central to how I work. I believe customers deserve to know exactly how my products are made, how they are photographed and presented, and how modern tools such as AI may be used responsibly within my business.
This policy explains clearly and openly how I create and present imagery, and makes an explicit distinction between real, handcrafted products and illustrative lifestyle visuals.
What Is Always Real
Every Emma Easter Handcrafted product is:
-
Individually handcrafted by me, Emma, in my studio in Wales
-
Made using authentic, traceable materials, including Harris Tweed® and UK-sourced leather
-
Cut, sewn and finished by hand by me
-
Never mass produced or factory made
-
A physical, real product that exists exactly as described
AI is never used to design, manufacture, assemble, or alter my bags or accessories in any way. The craftsmanship, materials, construction, and final products are entirely human-made.
Product Photography & Studio Setup

This is the everyday reality of my studio. The bag pictured is the Rowena Handbag in Purple Harris Tweed® and black leather. It isn’t a styled photoshoot space, but the place where I cut, sew, and finish every bag. This is how my work looks, and this is how all of my bags are photographed.
I personally photograph and film my products to ensure accuracy and consistency.
My product imagery is created using:
-
A Canon 6D full-frame camera
-
An iPhone 16 Pro
-
A dedicated tabletop photo box
-
Controlled studio lighting
-
Natural light where appropriate
All close-up product images, detail shots, texture photographs, lining images, and process videos show real products that I have personally made.
When you see stitching, materials, hardware, linings, interiors, or construction details, you are viewing the actual item you will receive.
Use of AI-Assisted Imagery
As a small, independent artisan business, I do not have access to large marketing budgets, professional studios, or paid models.
To help customers visualise scale, styling, and everyday use, I may use AI-assisted tools for:
-
Lifestyle imagery (for example, showing how a bag may be worn or styled)
-
Concept or illustrative scenes
-
Backgrounds, environments, or non-product elements in images or video
-
Some promotional or social media visuals
In these cases, AI is used solely as a visual aid. The product shown is always based on a real, handcrafted bag that I have made.
What AI Is Never Used For
AI is never used to:
-
Create or invent products that do not exist
-
Alter the appearance, size, colour, or construction of a real product
-
Misrepresent materials, craftsmanship, or quality
-
Replace accurate product photography where precision matters
-
Fabricate reviews, testimonials, or customer experiences
If an image includes AI-generated models or environments, this does not affect the reality, availability, or quality of the product being sold.
If you would ever like additional reassurance, I am happy to show the bags on request, including via short video clips or live video calls where appropriate. Customers are also welcome to see my work in person when I am trading at markets or events. Transparency and trust matter to me, and I want customers to feel confident about what they are buying.
I also regularly share behind-the-scenes content on social media, where you can see me cutting, sewing, and assembling many of the bags by hand. As an artisan business, I do not always hold large amounts of finished stock, as I usually make one bag at a time. Where helpful, I am happy to record and share additional making or sewing footage so customers can see their bag being created.
Use of AI for Writing & Organisation
In addition to imagery, I may use AI-assisted tools to support written content such as product descriptions, website copy, emails, or planning documents.
As a small artisan business, I wear many hats and manage making, sourcing, photography, customer service, marketing, and administration alongside other work. My time is limited, and AI helps me organise information, improve clarity, and use my working time more effectively.
All written content is reviewed, edited, and approved by me. AI does not replace my knowledge of my products, materials, or process, and it does not make claims on my behalf without my oversight.
Why I Use a Mixed Approach
I am aware that AI has been misused by some businesses and individuals, and that there is understandable scepticism about its use, including concerns about environmental impact. I take those concerns seriously.
We also live in a world where customers increasingly expect a certain visual standard online. Social media trends, unboxing culture, and highly polished content can create unrealistic expectations of small artisan brands.
As an independent maker, I balance rising personal living costs with rising business costs, while often working other jobs to support my studio. Many artisan businesses operate this way, with the hope that one day their craft alone will be sustainable.
At this stage, full-scale photoshoots, professional models, location hire, videographers, photographers, and social media teams are beyond my reach. AI helps me bridge that gap responsibly, allowing me to present my work clearly while keeping my focus and resources on making high-quality bags by hand.
My intention is never to mislead or to take money dishonestly. Every product is real, every order is fulfilled, and every customer is treated with care.
As my business grows, my aim is to rely less on AI and more on human collaborators. Until then, I am doing my best to operate ethically, transparently, and sustainably within my means.
